Description and Reviews:

Tasting note: The 1955 Spratley Vintage Port is an exceptional and aged port that showcases the depth and complexity of its long maturation. The wine has a deep, dark ruby colour with hints of brick at the rim, reflecting its age. The nose is powerful, with aromas of dried black fruits, such as fig and prune, along with notes of dark chocolate, leather, and a touch of spices like cinnamon and clove. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with velvety tannins and well-integrated sweetness. Flavours of dark berries, plum, and raisin dominate, balanced by a fine acidity that adds freshness. The finish is long, with lingering notes of dried fruit and a faint smokiness. This vintage port has aged beautifully, offering a perfect balance of power, elegance, and complexity.
