Description and Reviews:
The 1975 Quinta do Noval Nacional Vintage Port is considered one of the rarest and most exceptional Ports. It comes from a very small, un-grafted vineyard plot and is known for its immense concentration, depth, and complexity. The 1975 vintage is mature, offering layers of dark fruit, spice, and leather with hints of dried figs, tobacco, and cedar. With age, it has developed nuanced tertiary flavors, making it a prized bottle for collectors. It continues to age gracefully, though it can be enjoyed now for its refined balance.
"Deeper in colour (as you would expect) but not deep for a Nacional, mid-garnet, thin browning rim; rather odd medicinal aromas, stewed plums; soft, sweet plummy fruit, rather simple and lacking structure with a slightly burnt edge, fuller with some grip on the finish but not really satisfying. I suppose this is not so bad for a 1975 though. Drink now and over the next ten years. 14.5. [Deep colour but already looking quite mature, beautiful liquorice and chocolate aromas, elegant concentration of flavour, firm, milk chocolate finish.]" Richard Mayson.
