Exquisitely presented in a crystal decanter and an artisanal case, the Quinta das Carvalhas "Memories" very, very old tawny port is made from the exceptional 1867 tawny with a dash (7%) of 1900.

The story of this Port travels back to the harvest of 1867 at Quinta das Carvalhas, one of the most prominent properties in the Douro Valley, which is highly known for the beauty of its landscape and its spectacular vineyards.

An exquisite example of a Very Old Tawny Port, produced in a limited edition of just 260 bottles to celebrate the founding of the company in 1756.

Released in 2016 on the 260th anniversary there is just one bottle per year of existence. A Port that unveils as a true memory of the 19th Century, preserved in time with meticulous care and an almost religious devotion.

Tasting Notes
Amber-gold with deep tawny hues, reflecting its extensive aging and complex development. A captivating bouquet of dried fruits such as apricots, figs, and raisins, intertwined with rich notes of toffee, caramel, roasted nuts, and hints of spice. Subtle undertones of oak and tobacco add further depth. Exceptionally smooth and rich on the palate, the “Memories” Tawny Port offers a harmonious blend of flavours, including candied orange peel, toasted almonds, and layers of vanilla and caramel. The texture is velvety and luxurious, with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The finish is incredibly long and elegant, leaving a warm, lingering impression of dried fruit and nutty, toasty notes.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Tawny Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline.
