Description and Reviews:
Exclusive to Vintage Wine & Port.
The 2014 Palmer colheita Port is a type of tawny port wine made from a single vintage and aged in wood for at least seven years before being bottled. The 2014 Colheita Port, therefore, would have been aged in casks many years before being bottled.
Tasting Notes: This Port has a deep tawny colour and a nose of rich and complex aromas of dried fruits, nuts, caramel, and spices. On the Palate the Port is smooth and well-balanced with flavours of fig, raisin, walnut, and toffee. There can be a hint of vanilla and a touch of spice due to the oak ageing. Long, smooth finish with lingering sweetness and a touch of acidity.
Serving Suggestions Temperature: Best served slightly chilled, around 12-16°C (54-61°F).
Glassware: Use a port glass or a small wine glass to concentrate the aromas.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with desserts like almond tart, crème brûlée, or dried fruit compotes. It can also complement blue cheeses or be enjoyed on its own as a dessert wine.
STORAGE The wine is ready to drink and does not require decanting. The bottle should be kept upright and protected from direct sunlight. Once opened, the port should be stored in a fridge and consumed within 3 months.
