The 2005 Messias Colheita port is well-regarded for its balanced sweetness and complex profile, making it a great choice for those who enjoy tawny and colheita style ports.
Tasting notes: Tawny colour with red hues. Aromas of dried forest fruits, with a strong note of prunes and spice. On the palate, the berry flavours persist with integrated tannins and hints of vanilla. Smooth and balanced by refreshing acidity. Despite its age, it retains much of its original ripe fruitiness, which is enhanced by sultana and wood spice flavours from the cask ageing. The aftertaste is persistent, smooth, and fine.
Serving & Food Pairing Colheita Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline. Once opened colheita Port should be stored in a fridge and should be consumed within 3 months.
