The 1995 Croft Roeda Port is an outstanding wine from the very good 1995 vintage.
It is characterised by a deep brown-black, with narrow brick brown rim. Ripe and mature fruit on the nose. Quite finely constituted and complex. Chocolate, butterscotch, prunes and cedar notes – quite exotic. Rounded, luscious, but with good tannic structure. Ripe, chocolatey, fudge flavours. Some jammy fruit, but only on the finish.
Reviews
"Filtered and decanted immediately upon opening. Allowed to breathe about 45 minutes before serving. Did not taste until after breathing. Colour was beautiful deep purple. Chocolate and vanilla notes in the nose. Taste was a fruit explosion with great structure and outstanding finish. Paired with various dark chocolates and went extremely well with an 88% cocoa from the Amazon. Was one of the best vintage ports any of us had tasted - compared very well with a Dow 1995 vintage tasted previously." Cellar Tracker Review.
