Vintage Port
Includes Barros gift box as illustrated
Description and Reviews:
Barros wines are a celebration of Portuguese talent enhanced by experience and knowledge. At 30 years old, the 1995 Barros Vintage Port is at a fascinating stage of its life.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet colour. Sweet flavours of raisins, full of attractive fruit, plums and blackberries. It has some density and structure. Its tannins are firm and are perfectly wrapped in the fruit that sustains this wine. The finish is long and persistent, revealing notes of chocolate and spices as it evolves.
Serving Tips
When mature this port will need to be decanted to remove sediment. Serve at room temperature on its own or with steak and blue cheese sauce or vintage mature blue cheeses such as stilton or Roquefort. Vintage port is also good if paired with chocolate-rich desserts.
Barros Porto is one of the most respected and historic Port wine producers in Portugal, renowned for its commitment to quality and tradition. Established in 1913, Barros specializes in crafting a wide range of high-quality Ports, including Vintage Ports, Tawnies, and Colheitas (single-harvest aged Ports). The house is part of the Sogevinus Fine Wines Group, which also includes other notable Port producers like Kopke, Burmester, and Calém.
How to store your Vintage Port
Vintage Port, like all fine wines, prefers to remain undisturbed, lying on its side in a dark and at least slightly humid place at a stable temperature of between 10°C and 14°C to mature properly.
