This lovely gift set comprises of two bottles of fine 1968 Portuguese wine. It includes a barrel aged port and a medium sweet Madeira from the 1968 vintage, both presented in a double dark mocha leather effect gift box with silk liner. It makes for a very special 50 year old gift in 2018.

1968 Messias, Single Harvest/Colheita Port
The Messias colheita port from the good 1968 vintage has been aged in a barrel until bottling in 2014.
The extended barrel aging has given this wine a complex fusion of dried fruit and cedar notes. On the palate the wine is smooth and full bodies with plenty nuts and sweet fruit on the palate, fine balance. A tremendous finish which goes on forever. There's no question about the quality on display here.

An enormously inviting and complex nose, tastes of dried apricots and caramel which suddenly evolve into a surprisingly dry finish. An outstanding wine.
