Description and Reviews:
This Ruby Port, produced by Messias, is a lovely fresh wine with a youthful, fruity character. Made from a blend of traditional Portuguese grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Cão, it is typically aged for a shorter period of time n large oak casks, which helps preserve the vibrant fruit flavours and deep colour.
Tasting Notes: A remarkable medley of ripe red and black berry flavours, with ripe cherries, plums, and dates, exhibiting some concentration and depth. Fresh-faced and youthful, the Messias Ruby Port delivers lip-smacking sweetness with subtle tannin.
Serving & Food Pairing Ruby port will benefit from being served at a cool room temperature, the effect can be achieved by keeping the bottle in the fridge and taking it out an hour or so before you need it to let it come up to 16 to 18C. Ruby Ports' fresh-faced nature, raspberry and black cherry flavours, rich textures, and sweeter style evoke two classic desserts: sour cherry pie and chocolate ganache truffles. When you combine a glass of Ruby Port with a stinky blue cheese, your taste buds will be transported to a spectacular yin and yang balance of sweet and savoury flavours.
