Description and Reviews:
The Messias colheita port wine from the good 2004 vintage comes from a unique category of port wines that are made from a single vintage and aged in oak barrels for a minimum of seven years before bottling. Unlike Tawny Ports, which are blends of multiple vintages, Colheita Ports reflect the characteristics of a specific year, much like Vintage Ports, but they are aged longer in wood, leading to a more complex flavour profile.
Tasting notes: Beautiful straw colour. Young, fruity fresh aromas that evolve over time, giving rise to a bouquet that brings out the aromas of dried fruits, aromas of roasting, wood and spices. Soft, harmonious and complex in the end. Great finish - excellent wine.
Serving & Food Pairing Colheita Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline. Once opened colheita Port should be stored in a fridge and should be consumed within 3 months.
